As part of my MFA at Calarts I worked on a graduate thesis on 'Camouflage in Contemporary Media'. Since then I have been working on several small projects on the topic of camouflage. One of these projects was an all-ages workshop for the Craft and Folk Art Museum in Los Angeles.
Camouflage uses a combination of materials, coloration and illumination for concealment, either by making animals or objects hard to see, or by disguising them as something else.
— Our eyes are constantly being tricked!
During the Contemporary Camouflage Collage workshop at CAFAM I introduced participants to the different camouflaging methods that exist. We then used all of these tricks to conceal, mask, dazzle, deceive, and blend into our chosen environments.
